In 2018-19, I had the privilege of meeting Prophet Ezekiel Francis, who shared with me how he reads the Bible and how he receives powerful revelations. He told me that his process is very simple yet profound. He reads the Bible for one hour, then prays for one hour, repeating this cycle throughout the night. By the morning, he has received so many revelations that he could write books filled with divine insights.

This way of reading the Bible shook me. Many believers, including pastors, often read the Bible quickly or out of habit, without diving deep into it. If you want to receive revelations from God, this casual approach will not suffice. You need to immerse yourself in the Word, meditate on it, and dedicate time for prayer.

The Right Way to Read the Bible

When you sit down to read the Bible, always keep a pen and paper ready. This shows your faith, as you are prepared to write down what God will speak to you. I personally ensure that I always have a notebook with me whenever I read the Bible. God speaks to those who are ready to listen and write down His words.

Before you pray, start by reading the Bible for at least two to three hours. Go back and forth between reading and praying. This helps deepen your understanding, and you will begin to receive powerful revelations. I have seen how these revelations have positively impacted the youth ministry, and they can do the same for you.

Avoid Treating the Bible Like a Routine Task

One common mistake many make is treating Bible reading as a routine. They read a few pages in the morning, then rush off to work or other tasks. While this might be a good habit for a new believer, if you desire to hear from God and receive life-changing revelations, you must give the Bible the time and focus it deserves.

Choose a time when you can read the Bible in peace. This could be early in the morning or late at night when there are no distractions. Turn off your phone, disconnect from the internet, and sit in a quiet place where you can fully concentrate. When you read the Bible in a peaceful environment, God will reveal Himself to you in ways you have never imagined.

The Importance of Focus and Stillness

In today’s world, many people read the Bible in noisy environments or while being distracted by their phones. This prevents them from receiving deep revelations. When you read the Bible, ensure that you are not disturbed by anything. In the past, people did not have phones or constant distractions, which allowed them to focus deeply on the Word of God. As a result, they were able to build great ministries and teachings that spread across the world.

If you feel there is too much noise around you, find a quiet place. When I started my journey, my house was small, but I would go to the rooftop at night with a small flashlight and read the Bible. I knew that was the right time for me to connect with God without any interruptions.

Meditate on the Word Day and Night

The Bible teaches us to meditate on the Word of God day and night. People like Isaac would go to open fields to meditate in silence, and Ezra would study the Bible constantly. If you want to experience the power of God’s Word, you must dedicate quality time to it, without any distractions.

Some people make the mistake of reading the Bible just to show others. For instance, during church services, I’ve seen people open their Bibles and pretend to read while others are watching. This is not true Bible reading. True Bible study happens in the quiet moments when you are alone with God, meditating on His Word and listening to what He has to say.

Fill Your Diaries with Revelations

When you follow this approach, God will open your mind and heart to His deep secrets. Your diaries will be filled with revelations, and you will see how much light you receive from the Word. It is a life-changing experience.
